Late Fall

Got out with Mike on Friday. The fishing was ok, nothing big, but the brooks were colorful. It was cold, ice was on lakes shorelines so it made for some tough fishing conditions. All in all, it was a good day to be out. The weather cooperated and stay nice and sunny most of the day. These lakes won’t stay soft for much longer, not with those types of temps. Summer is over.

Was messing around with some picture styles for my camera and thought this one turned out rather nice. This picture style is called Fake IR (infra red). I love the look of this image using it. Black and white with some pop. If you use Canon cameras (550D, 5D, 7D, or any of the Mark cameras), you can use this picture style. It was designed by a crazy talented Japanese photographer named Kevin Wang, his photos are amazing. He doesn’t use any post processing like photoshop. Just shoots in RAW then applies his own designed picture styles and converts them to JPG’s. I actually really like this technique.
You can download about 60 of Kevin Wangs picture styles HERE

Browns of unusual sizes. Mike and I were able to get out and hit some water this past weekend and we ended up doing pretty good with sow bugs and beatis patterns. We started out throwing streamers, Mike moved a few fish, I just got some practice casts in with nothing hitting mine. Around 11am we switched to nymphing and the fishing really picked up around noon and was pretty good for the next couple of hours.
All in all, it was a good day to be out on the water.
Some of these images are Mikes
