RnF Stone Tutorial
Posted by RnF in All Posts, All Tutorials, Nymph Fly Patterns on April 9, 2010
This is a simple stonefly nymph pattern.
Most stonefly nymph patterns are quite involved and time consuming to tie and I haven’t ever really enjoyed tying them. This on fits my style since it’s sort of a soft hackle version and quite simple to tie. It has fished quite well for me on pretty much every river I have used it where stoneflies can be found. I was quite certain this pattern was just going to be one of those patterns that just wasn’t going to do very well and end up in the old “crap bucket”. But this one has found a place in my fly box.
Enjoy!
A New Beginning
Many of you have probably wondered what the hell happened to my blog. Well, to make a short story even shorter, I messed it up. So with that being said, I will be starting a new blog. I actually am very excited with what this blog will bring to you. Sometimes mistakes are good. The old blog was in need of a major overhaul anyway to get it set up the way I would have liked.
This blog will be going in a different direction than my previous blog. I will focus almost primarily on Fly Patterns and Fly Tying. I will still have fishing reports, but not nearly as many as in the past.
I have re-worked my fly tying desk and lighting set up which should allow me to do tutorials much easier and with more even lighting. Hopefully my photos and videos will look better than ever.
